Irish Mojito

Mint has long been a favorite of barkeeps, inspiring such classics and the Mint Julep and Mojito.  Today in honor of St. Patrick’s Day we share with you the Irish Mojito.  Simplistic in its design, it flips the rum for Irish whiskey and lands in flavor somewhere between the Mojito and Mint Julep.  It is a great play for St Patrick’s Day, or any day that a bottle of Irish Whiskey and a bunch of fresh mint present themselves.  Sláinte!

Irish Mojito

In a Shaker Glass add:

• 2 Ounces Well-Bred Irish Whiskey
• 1 Ounce of Simple Syrup
• ½ Ounce Fresh Lime Juice
• A Generous Handful of Fresh Mint Leaves 

Muddle to gently bruise the mint leaves.  Fill shaker glass with ice and shake the whole.  Strain into a highball glass over fresh crushed ice.  Garnish liberally with a mint bouquet.
