Guadalupe Smash

Muddling fresh blackberries and sweet basil provides a backdrop for today’s drink straight from our Bottle Pros Cocktail Kitchen.  We have dubbed this summer refresher the Guadalupe Smash.  It has the feel of an island drink but with its roots planted firmly on New England Terra Firma.  Grab a bottle of Plata Tequila, some sweet basil, a pint of dead ripe blackberries, fresh limes and agave nectar for this delicious drink that may well end up being your summer go-to favorite.

Guadalupe Smash

In a cocktail shaker add:

• 6-8 Fresh Blackberries
• 6-8 Fresh Basil Leaves 
• ½ Ounce Agave Nectar

Muddle gently to break down the berries and release the essential oils in the basil.  Then add:

• 1 ½ Ounces of Blanco Tequila
• 1 Ounce Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
• 1 Cup of Ice

Shake until painfully cold, then shake a bit more.  Strain over fresh crushed ice in an oversized lowball glass.  Garnish with a few speared blackberries & basil leaf.
