Bordeaux is the land of expensive claret praised by pundits, critics & collector alike.  A region revered for revolutionizing the business of wine in a way which the rest of the wine world would only hope to replicate.  A common misconception around the region is that one need deep pockets to explore it’s wines.  And while this may hold true for classified growths and the cult labels of the right bank … Bordeaux continues to offer up good value. 

To be clear, our Team filters through a number of mediocre Bordeaux each month and very few pass the litmus test ... though the ones that do really deliver.  Today we’re excited to share with you a recent discovery which had our tasting team impressed with the first sip.

Chateau Vieille Tour or the ‘Old Tower’ is a great representation of classic Bordeaux character.  Ripe with red currant and black berry fruit flanked by touches of tobacco leaf, crushed stone and savory sage notes.  While there is no great story behind this label … let’s face it, that would probably require one to fork over a significant sum to enjoy it.  The reality is …this is textbook Bordeaux for a song.
